The sun sets behind a colorful group of purple lupine wildflowers in the Palouse region of Washington State. The Palouse is one of the largest wheat growing regions in the United States and is known to photographers for it's gently rolling wheat fields. Spring brings spectacular greens to the wheat fields as well as widespread blooms of flowers in natural areas throughout the region.
