Description
"The Oasis"
A high-angle view of Havasu Falls in the Havasupai reservation of the Grand Canyon. This famous turquoise blue-green waterfall, surrounded by red sandstone cliffs, derives its color from the high calcium carbonate concentration in the water. This dissolved mineral content also creates unique travertine (limestone) structures on the cliffs and in the water. One of the most iconic locations in Arizona, access is tightly controlled and only by helicopter, horse/mule, or an 8 mile hike down into the canyon.
